1. What is UM-ACP?

UM-ACP is the abbreviation for UM Association of Chinese Professors .

2. Who can join UM-ACP?

Any UM Chinese professor can join UM-ACP.

3. How can I join the UM-ACP website?

The process of joining is simple: just go to the Registration website, provide brief information, and then click "Register". An internal verification process will be conducted. Once verified, an email will be sent to you to notify your approval of an account and a temporary password. You can then log in using your email address as your username. You can change your password after login.

4. If I forget or do not have my login information, how can I log in?

You can get your password using your email by going to: http://www.umacp.org/users/getpass.php. On this page, enter your email (the one listed in the members.php site). Then an email will be automatically sent to you and provide you necessary log in information.

5. How I can make my photo available in the membership page?

After login, you can upload your photo to your profile. There are two ways to do this task: the simpliest way is to upload a photo from your local computer. Alternatively, you can upload a photo image file from your local computer to your profile web page after you log in. After log in, you can copy a web URL of your image to your member profile page, and the umacp.org system automatically retrieves your photo from the indicated page and shows your picture on the http://www.umacp.org/members.php web page. If you want to change your own image, you can do so easily by changing it to a different URL. To find an existing photo URL, you can go to a web page where your photo is included, right click your photo and choose 'copy image location' in Firefox. To to get the URL of an image file in Internet Explorer, right-click on the image, and left-click on "Properties" in the menu. This will display the image URL, and you can copy it accordingly.  Then you can paste your image location/URL to the corresponding location in our member profile form. It is important to note that you want to ensure you have the privilege to copy your photo from one website to here in the UM-ACP website. There might be a copyright issue even though it is your own photo.

6. Can I keep my membership private and not shown in the members list page?

Yes. If a member wants to keep his/her profile private, he/she can log in and then change the setting of Profile Public from "Yes" to "No".
